Piedras Marcadas
|
|
The Piedras Marcadas site lies along the same volcanic escarpment on Albuquerque's western border as the two other parts of the National Petroglyph Monument. The trailhead, only slightly removed from a busy city intersection, presents an inauspicious beginning to a walk through the canyon. Soon, however, the surrounding housing developments and other signs of the modern world recede over the canyon rim, and the visitor enters a timeless realm, dominated by birds, rabbits, lizards, and Kachina ghosts. rock art index page home |
