Rinconada Canyon Most of the rock art at the Petroglyph National Monument is on the north side of Rinconada Canyon, west of Albuquerque. The site contains thousands of petroglyphs which were pecked into the dark basalt boulders by Apache, Navajo and Puebloan peoples. The age of this Native American rock art is estimated at 300 to 600 years. click Google logo for full map The Piedras Marcadas site a bit to the north along the same escarpment is also well worth a visit. |
